About Me

As a transplant to the New York City metro area, whenever my husband and I want to go out to dinner, or I want to go to a particular store, or get from one place to another, the first thought in my head is “is this wheelchair accessible?” This usually results in a furtive search online to see what information is available, and then sometimes arriving at a place to see that it might not be quite as described.

Just because I use a wheelchair (and a power wheelchair at that) doesn’t mean that I don’t have discriminating tastes. Sure, I’ve been known to patronize a store simply because of its accessibility. However, since I also can’t live only on Panera Bread and Chipotle as my dining options, I decided to put together this blog to showcase businesses – retail shops, services, restaurants, etc – which are wheelchair-accessible and also provide real-world reviews…a combination that’s really hard to find!

We appreciate contributors to the site! If you have a particular wheelchair-accessible business which you’d like to share, please email me.
