Pier I Cafe

It was a glorious late spring day in Metro NYC today, and a friend of mine called me to see if I wanted to “play” all afternoon. He had a specific destination in mind – Pier I (eye, not one) Cafe, which is located on the Upper West Side. I was not disappointed.

Pier I Cafe is a seasonal bar which sits right along the Hudson River at 70th St. in Manhattan. Although they serve food, it is mostly a great place to grab their Corona Bucket ( for $35) or some prosecco and take in the glorious views of the Hudson River, boats, and Bergen County, NJ on a pleasant summer day. If you are visiting the area and need a “time out”, this is the place to take it.

Parking is available at the Trump buildings (68th St) and there’s a nice paved ramp/walkway to get to the riverfront. There’s even a wheelchair accessible bathroom between the 2 main restrooms which is clean and has plenty of space – something which you don’t expect to encounter in a city park!
